hen we educate the children of Jackson, Mississippi, we are building
tomorrow today.
We need to make a quantum leap forward by addressing the needs of our children.
That means we need information. I want data-based decision-making, so we can make good decisions and stand by them. We need to find out where the problems are sooner. And we need to involve the whole community in this process. I want the community to say, "This is my school, my spot." I want parents to say, "Jackson Public Schools provides a first rate education."
The first step is connectivity. Children know technology -- it's their world. We have to tap into it.
This will not be easy. Change never is easy. But we're not here to do the easy thing, we're here to do the right thing. We're here to serve our children.
